Volunteers

Volunteers make Bentonsport National Historic District an engaging, pleasurable, and well-maintained place to visit. We need volunteers to help in the following ways:

  • Singers, musicians, actors, and entertainers are wanted to participate in events such as Heritage Day, community music programs held at the Bentonsport church, and to welcome tour buses to Bentonsport
  • Help water and weed the garden at the Stone House community building and at the Rose Garden
  • Trail maintenance of the Richards Nature Trail east of the campground, also at the J40 trail head of Bentonsport Timber
  • Assist with archiving Bentonsport Improvement's historic archives and objects
  • Conduct visitor surveys
  • Help with tasks during events, such as hosting historic tours, setting up and cleaning picnic tables and chairs, helping visitors locate what they need, picking up litter, and making sure posted signs are understood.
  • Take photos of people enjoying Bentonsport. A model release form giving BIA permission to use visitor images on the website and in brochures and other public media should be obtained. Some exceptions apply. Open Model Release.
